The Pigeonnier offers beautiful views of the French countryside yet is easy to get to. A structure that is over 300 years old, feels like it is brand new. It has been updated and decorated with much attention to detail, including the pressed sheets. Multiple sitting areas and breathtaking views create an amazing setting to “unplug” from society and spend time reconnecting. Ed & Sally are outstanding hosts. They taught us about the culture as well as the region. This was the perfect retreat for our 5th wedding anniversary. /Mike & Mandy, Breckenridge CO.

“Completely delightful. The perfect introduction to the French country life–its rural beauty, its markets, its food. Can’t wait to return”.  Elise and Larry, Napa CA.

“ I have been most fortunate to have been a guest at “the Pigeonnier” at La Taupe twice in the last 3 years and I would comment that one would have to circle the globe 1,000 times before finding an accommodation with as much comfort, sophistication and attractiveness. The owners have thought of every detail to make one’s visit perfect and memorable in every way”. /Lindy Maui, Hawaii, USA

“Staying in the Pigonnier at the Greens is modern living in a period piece mini- castle. Most beautiful setting and restoration in France.  And the Greens are the most hospitable French/Americans you will ever meet”. /Tony and Merry, New Canaan Conn.

“The most unique, best-appointed, and comfortable B&B in all of France—-and all situated in a centuries old Pigeonnier! The hospitality, and stunning grounds are incomparable and unforgettable.  Couysells will beckon you back year after year for more…”/Tina and Paul, Santa Ynez, CA

“We cannot say enough about the fabulous accommodations in the Pigeonnier at La Taupe. Private, tasteful, fully equipped. Wonderfully quiet location down a country lane and across a gravel courtyard from the main house. An extraordinary headquarters for discovering this unique and historic part of France. The pool is gorgeous and actually big enough for swimming laps. Sally Green, your American hostess, is one of the most charming women you will ever meet, committed to ensuring your stay will be a delight”. / Jim and Mary, San Francisco CA

“ Love staying at the Green’s Pigeonnier at La Taupe.  The decor is in great taste.  Such fun to have coffee in the morning either in the sun lit kitchen or out on the patio near the dinning room.  Your hospitality is really over the top and you make everyone feel at home and as though they are part of the family.  Love the place in the winter, spring summer and fall”. /Carol, Corral de Terra, CA. USA.

“Ed and Sally’s pigeonnier is easily one of the loveliest and most comfortable places I have ever stayed. I can heartily recommend it to anyone who would like to spend some time in countryside of southwestern France.” /Tra, Berlin Germany

The Pigeonnier was my perfect sanctuary while in this beautiful area of France! All the comforts one can wish for, and the beauty of the surrounding grounds make for a wonderful morning walk. Whether just relaxing at La Taupe or enjoying the day trips to nearby villages such as Roquercor or a short drive to Cahors, this is a hidden jewel in France! The Greens are the best hosts ever!

    Dear Ed & Sally,

Thank you so much for a wonderful week at La Taupe. The Pigeonnier is superb, very comfortable and hard to fault. Your cooking is also superb !
Our journey home was fine – no hold-ups – and we did it door to door in 11 hours (not bad, although the police might have thought differently).
We would love to return next year.

    Kind regards,
    Edward, Kathy, Alexander & Emily

We (my wife daughter and I) stayed at La Taupe in the first week in August. What a fantastic location for a holiday – for adults or family.
Set amongst peaceful countryside with a very pretty village close by, extremly high quality accomodation with fantastic surroundings, including the wonderful heated pool, and all with the added bonus of knowing that the very helpful owners (Sally and Ed) are close-by too. And they could not have done more to ensure we had a good vacation stay – which we certainly did.
I would not hesitate to recommend La Taupe – it surpassed our (already high) expectations .
