Vacation Rental France with Swimming Pool: La Taupe
Luxury Escape in the Sunny South-West of France, The Pigeonnier at La Taupe, Couyssels is a luxury rural escape for one or two couples or a small family wishing to discover the “other South of France”. La Taupe sits atop a wooded butte surrounded by 22 acres of natural woodlands. They are yours to explore!
The charm of this lovingly restored ancient farm enclosure is its stone walled gardens, heated mosaic pool, barbecue with 3 outside eating areas, herb and vegetable gardens, petanque court and golf pitching golf course. They are the pride of Sally and Tim Blackburn who are committed to making your stay at La Taupe unforgettable.
In the heart of historic, sunny Quercy Blanc, the restored Pigeonnier is a luxury self catering, two bedroom vacation retreat. Located in the tiny hamlet of Couyssels, this idyllic setting beckons you to explore the “Tuscany” of France by bike, foot or car. Use as a “Base Camp” from which to explore the bucolic countryside and its history, or an escape to get away from it all in the romantic French sunshine, the Pigeonnier at La Taupe is the place to stay.
The nearby village of Roquecor is about a mile walk or bike ride. The local Cafe, Cafe du Centre is the center of activity for
Expats and French alike. Music, drinks and food make for a great french atmosphere. Many golf courses dot the region but one may always practice their pitching at La Taupe! In the summer months there are many vintage car events to follow, driving through the sunflower fields, and stopping off to do some wine tasting in the Lot and Dordogne Valleys.
The Quercy Region is steep in history with many wonderful day trips of sight seeing. Whether it is Josephine Baker’s home, Chateau des Milandes, the lovely town of Cahors on the Lot River (famous for it’s Malbec wine, Le Pont Valentre and its market days), the Viaduct Millau (it is the tallest bridge in the World, spanning the valley of the River Tarn) or going to see the Tour de France pass by (although for the keen cyclist it is just a few hours drive to the bottom of the famous HC climb of Tourmalet!) We also boast of two nearby UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the St Pierre Abbey in Moissac and the famous Lascaux Caves in the Dordogne.
